At some point in my development (it's an ongoing process), I gained a fear of confrontation. As I took, it became more and more prevalent and became a portion of my personality. I was a "nice guy", which can be fine and positively carries redeeming qualities; however, I found myself with a lot of problems linked to this. I was can not remain true for myself. I found myself saying "yes" to everything, even though I didn't wish to accomplish something. My love life suffered because I was so scared of exactly what the female would think of me, thus I held back what I truly thought and often finished up "just a friend". I actually has not been a "nice guy", I was a "co-dependent guy". How other folks viewed me was how I viewed myself. I would make decisions which are good for others, however, not great for me. We don't need to attempt to be "nice" people, we wish to try to be "real" people, that is far more encompassing.
